Words about ... Resurrection!

Then your light will shine like the sunrise;your restoration will quickly arrive;your godly behavior will go before you,
and the LORD’s splendor will be your rear guard.Then you will call out, and the LORD will respond;
you will cry out, and he will reply, ‘Here I am.’
You must remove the burdensome yoke from among you and stop pointing fingers and speaking sinfully.
Isaiah 56: 8- 9

The Word of God in an absolutely straightforward way is targeted toward us, via the prophet Isaiah, and it says that: Some things belong to us, not only in the sense that God has promised that He will give us these things but also in the sense that they belong to us just because we already have them at our possession. Yes, this should not sound strange; God will not give us that which we have already received!

What we need to be careful of is not whether we have these things, but whether they can be seen or not. The light that must shine, our health that must bloom and justice that must be brought forth; all this must be revealed. There is power within us, in our taking the right decisions and in our living in His safety. There is power within us for healing, as well as for the avoidance of sin. It is there, however it is many a time hidden due to the stance we have adopted in our lives.

In reality is the stance we have taken in life that important? From what the Word of God says, it is! This is exactly why it is explicitly opposed to: the burdensome yoke we inflict on ourselves, the selfish pointing of fingers, futile words and moaning. Things that are related to others and other behaviour, but also things that are related to God! Indeed our stance is so important that it seems as if God is hidden and then He suddenly makes an appearance as if He were playing hide and seek saying: “Here I am”. He is in fact here, together with all He has, together with all He is, and with all He can do, He just seems invisible. And this is because of the obstacles that we place in our way.

Is what our Father asks of us so terrible? To take care of our relationships, the condition of our hearts, as well as our words?  Sadly, these words more often than not sound like resentment at our Father who loves us so much!

Let us take Jesus’ words of encouragement as a command and let us all say along with Him:
“In the same way, let your light shine before people,…”
